Tesco UK: The Leading UK Superstore - Shopping At Tesco Online Is So Easy! You are in the DVD warehouse Screen Hunks...Tom Cruise Tom Cruise is one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood and he has also recently been credited as an director, most notably for The Others starring his ex wife Nicole Kidman . From his early appearances he quickly became the all american golden boy of Hollywood during the 80s with a plethora of action movies that allowed him to flex his muscles and show off his good looks. It wasn't until recent years, with movies like Magnolia and Jerry Maguire that he has also been recognised as a talented actor. Check out the excellent sci-fi thriller Minority Report for the lastest Cruise action. Other Screen Hunks... ...Arnold Schwarzenegger ...Sylvester Stallone ...Bruce Willis ...Mel Gibson ...Harrison Ford ...Sean Connery ...Richard Gere ...Cary Grant ...Brad Pitt Minority Report Lt. John Anderton ( Tom Cruise ) is the futuristic cop who heads up the 'pre-crime' division who stop crimes before they happen using a trio of psychics who developed powers from a strange drug experiment, and some supersonic technology. When the unit predicts that Anderton is the next murder suspect he has to try and prevent himself from committing the murder which leads him through a web of deception and intrigue. An excellent sci-fi thriller. Directed by Steven Spielberg . Back to top Mission Impossible - 1 & 2 Collector's Edition Remake and very modernised version of the cult TV series starring Cruise as Ethan Hunt, who is falsely branded a traitor and must use all his spy skills to outwit the unknown baddie and clear his name. Lots of action, double crossing, intrigue and self destructing messages! Back to top Interview With The Vampire - Special Edition Directed by Neil Jordan and based on the best selling novels of Anne Rice, the story begins with a young reporter ( Christian Slater ) interviewing a man claiming to be a 200 year old vampire Louis ( Brad Pitt ). Louis tells how he fell to the cavalier vampire Lestat ( Cruise ) and the tormented (for him at least) adventures that followed. The gothic style and excellent performances make this essential viewing. Back to top Cocktail Dropping out of school to become a barman, Brian Flannagan ( Tom Cruise ) is taken under the wing of veteran barman Doug Coglan ( Bryan Brown ). The dynamic duo have a fall out one night over a girl and Brian flees to the Caribbean where he meets and falls in love with Jordan ( Elizabeth Shue ) but he is soon tempted back to the wild life by Doug and must ultimately decide between the two. Back to top The Color of Money A follow on from the 1961 movie The Hustler, which starred Paul Newman as Fast Eddie Felson. Banned from playing Fast Eddie has become a front man for young hustlers, one of which Vincent Lauria ( Tom Cruise ) is doing particularly well. As Lauria learns all the tricks of the trade from Eddie and becomes more successful, Eddie gets increasingly jealous of his success and eventually vows to make an honest comeback himself. Paul Newman won a Best Actor Oscar for his stirling performance as a man on a quest for his self respect. Back to top Top Gun An 80s classic. Tom Cruise stars as Pete Mitchell, a pilot for the navy who by luck ends up competing with the 'best of the best' for the 'Top Gun' prize. Kelly McGillis stars as a naval adviser who has to teach the instinctive, but far from conventional, rookie how to fly the text book way and try and resist him at the same time. Resisting him proves near impossible (who could?) but after a fatal accident involving his co-pilot Pete goes off the rails and risks the girl and his chance to be Top Gun. Back to top Eyes Wide Shut Starring the then married Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman , as a rich couple who are both tempted by adultery during a Christmas party. When Alice ( Kidman ) reveals that she was tempted by a stranger and has had fantasies about him, William ( Cruise ) begins to actively explore some of his sexual fantasies. William learns about an unusual sexual group and decides to attend one of their 'meetings', but he soon discovers he is way over his head and his actions threaten his marriage, self-respect and life. Shrouded in secrecy during its production on a closed set, there was already considerable hype for this movie before its release, which received mixed reviews when it opened. Definitely worth a look if only to imagine just how much more was cut out of the film than was included. Back to top Risky Business In the movie that made him a star Tom Cruise stars as Joel Hanson, the responsible and successful 17 year old who is on his way to college. So good is he that his parents have entrusted him with the house whilst they are on holiday but little do they know that Joel has decided to hang up his goody two shoes and have some fun. Join him for the ride is this fab teen coming of age comedy adventure. Back to top The Firm Mitch McDeer ( Tom Cruise ) is a hot shot law student at Harvard who gets an offer he can't refuse from a firm in Memphis. When Mitch and his young wife ( Jeanne Tripplehorn ) move to Memphis they are intially overwhelmed by the firms generosity but soon start to become suspicious. The wives are like clones, and Mitch soon begins to realise that the majority of the firm's dealings are with the Mafia. He soon finds himself in a no win situation, forced by the FBI to report on the dealings of the Firm, which he knows will put his life in danger if he is found out, and unable to leave unless in a coffin. Back to top Far and Away Starring the ex Mr and Mrs Cruise , this romantic and charming tale tells of the poor Irish boy who trys to escape his roots and start a new life in the Americas. He ends up taking the Landlord's daughter with him, both anxious to escape the tradition of Ireland and claim a piece of 'free' land in Oklahoma. Arriving penniless they face many trials and tribulations to make ends meet, and most of them are caused by neither of them admitting their attraction to each other. It starts to look doubtful that they will ever reach Oklahoma, especially after they are separated but this is Hollywood and it's a fairy tale so you know there'll be a happy ending eventually.
