Buy Now Pay Later With Interest Free Credit | POSITION: Performance Analyst (2 positions) REPORTING TO: Manager of Performance Analysis LOCATION: Home Office, Toronto IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Review financial performance of all categories including sales, gross margin, net margin inventory levels and turns, coop targets and returns. Analyze product mix, pricing, space allocations, promotions and location within the store; suggest optimal parameters and highlight areas of opportunity. Analyze sales, gross margin and net margin contribution resulting from promotions and marketing programs to evaluate success. Assist in the development of markdown and return policy decisions that maximize gross margin dollars. Analyze external industry trends, loyalty program database and point of sale information to determine consumer behavior patterns and trends. Identify industry trends by department, product type, price point, season and other relevant parameters. Provide trend information to Operations, Replenishment and Purchasing departments to improve accuracy and performance of product purchasing. Develop a regular category analysis review with a strong follow up component to support the rolling forecast process. Communicate and cooperate effectively with the Manager, other departments and Store Operations including Managers and Booksellers. Work as a team player and encourage teamwork within the analyst and category management teams. Ensure timely communication of product changes and updates to Operations. Any other analytical accountability required of the department. AND YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS: Three years or more experience in a related Category Management or Inventory Analyst position. A related post secondary degree would be a definite asset. Strong sales and inventory planning experience. Understanding of Category Management principles and analysis. Good knowledge of a retail environment. Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
